We all need something to do over the summer break so I suggest that those of you of a social work/ care/ welfare bent should take a look at the brand spanking new e-learning resources available from the Social Care Institute for Excellence. You can watch videos, examine case studies, do quizzes and a whole lot more on the theme of poverty, parenting and social exclusion. The resources are free, although you will need to register. Go on, take a look. This nice weather won’t last and you’ll need something to fill your days!

Welcome to the blog, youth studies people. I’ve made you your own category so you can find relevant youth info quickly, although feel free to dip into social care, health, psychology, sociology (dip away, anywhere you like really). But for now, here are some titbits of your very own….

Generation Youth Issues: an independent research charity look at children and their peer groups and how these relate to wider society. There are campaigns, research results and the latest news.

Reoffending Juveniles: stats report from the Ministry of Justice about youth reoffending.
