The book concerns emotions, thoughts, and feelings, and discusses their relationship in an accessible way that will be suitable for newcomers to psychology. A court case you might be interested to know about:

The plaintiff manufactures a drug called Donepezil (sold as Aricept) for the treatment of Alzheimer’s Disease. They sought to challenge in the High Court guidance from The National Institute for Health & Clinical Excellence (NICE) which recommended the use of Donepezil in limited circumstances only.

National framework for NHS continuing healthcare and NHS-funded nursing care

This document sets out guidance for health professionals on the principles and processess of the National Framework for Continuing Healthcare and NHS-funded Nursing Care. Published in June 2007, this 38 page report by the Department of Health (DH) sets out responsibilities of health care bodies in ascertaining the eligibility of patients to receive NHS continuing health care or NHS-funded nursing care, and describes the concepts of continuing care for patients with long term health needs which have arisen as a result of disability or illness.

A report produced by the National Childbirth Trust, Save the Children and UNICEF is calling for a complete ban on advertising formula milk. The organisations say marketing baby formula milk undermines those who want to breastfeed and leaves many parents confused about how to feed their baby. Click here!

The Information Centre is a special health authority that collects statistics on health and social care for the NHS and social services. Their statistics and data collections page for infant feeding brings together government statistics for feeding practices for infants in the first nine months of life, plus information on smoking and drinking by mothers, for England and Wales.
