Primary Headship is available in the journals section of the School Resource Area from Issue 41 2007 onwards.

It is published 10 times a year and covers key issues related to school leadership with practical examples of successful approaches.

The journal Primary File has ceased publication and has been incorporated in Primary Headship.


New Children’s Services Pages on NFER Website

The NFER’s new Children’s Services pages offer a wealth of information about NFER’s research into the area, and support for people working in children’s services in implementing the Every Child Matters agenda.

For easy reference, all the research is classified under the five Every Child Matters outcomes.


BMJ Journals: ch-ch-ch-changes

Important news about BMJ journals: access requirements have changed. It is now necessary to register (for free) to access a lot of content on the site. BMJ Journals include some really popular titles like Archives of Disease in Childhood, British Journal of Sport Medicine, Emergency Medicine Journal and (of course) the BMJ. All the goodies are still available but they just want to know who you are! First time you try and access an article you’ll be challenged for log-in details. Follow the instructions to set up an account, et voila!

Discourse: studies in the cultural politics of education is an online Education journal available via the A-Z Journals List from the main Resources Online page. (Click on the SwetsWise link, then on the IP authentication link from the campus, or on Athens for off-campus access)

It is available from 2000 (Vol. 21) onwards and is an international, fully peer-reviewed journal publishing contemporary research and theorising in the cultural politics of education. 1999 issues are also available by clicking on the “Academic Search Elite” link under the title “Discourse (Taylor & Francis)”
