Teacher Assessment Activities for Foundation Subjects

Sample activities from the QCA Teacher assessment activities series for Key Stages 1 and 2 are available online. The QCA has recently developed new materials and the series now covers: art and design, design and technology, geography, history, and ICT.

Designed to support existing classroom practice and assessment methods, these materials provide examples of assessment activities to help identify, track and enhance pupil progress.

There is a book of activities for each subject at each key stage, including concise teacher guidance that explains the structure of the materials and how to use them. The materials are fully integrated with the national curriculum programmes of study and with the formative assessment agenda.

Oooh nice. Lots of handy videos of clinical skills techniques from the HE Academy and St George’s in London. Take a look at Clinical Skills Online for nurses and other health care professionals, including catheterisation, blood sampling and various examination techniques. Runs on Windows Media Player which is readily available. Makes a change from just reading about how to do things!

To help you, a list of new key documents will be published monthly here on “Update” with links to the full text. Click on “Read the rest of this entry” for links to documents published in January and February 2007.

The Document Summary Service at the University of Bristol produces useful convenient summaries of all these documents. The summaries can be found in the Reports section of the Reference area on the first floor of the Library shelved at 370.942 DOC
